Homework-opinion 3

Town vs Country?

In our class we have a mix of students who live in town, and those who live out in the country. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
Write an opinion comment stating where you live and whether you prefer living where you are or that you would rather swap. What are your reasons for this opinion? Justify and give examples.

I live in the country on a small lifestyle block. I prefer it to living in town because it is peaceful and there is little traffic noise. I can have some animals roaming in the fields and I can go for walks on the neighbours farm. I can play loud music and not annoy anyone and I have no neighbours living just across a fence. Sometimes traveling to and from town is a pain, but not enough of one to make me want to move.

  1. I think is a lot better than living in the town because you have a lot more stuff to do. First you have more room and in the morning you can wake up to a view of not plain house but pure nature.

  2. I live in the country I prefer living here because I can ride my bike and make things on the farm. I always like to see the cows in the field. The disadvantages are that it is far away from town and I can't just go into town for fun or to the shops.

  3. I live in the country with 20 acres surrounding our small life style block. I like living in the country because I really love animals and I have the opportunity to have lots of pets in the country. Our house isn’t too close to the neighbours so we can make as much noise as we like because it doesn’t affect them. Even though the cars are noisy because they are pretty close to our house I would rather live in the country than in town.

  15. I think that town is sort of better ‘cause your friends are in town and you can walk to the Warehouse and go hang with your mates. However, the good thing about the farm is that you can have loud parties and shoot with guns and go down the farm and shoot rabbits and possums.

  16. I think country is better because you can explore the forests and ride motorbikes along tracks. And you can cut down trees if you own the farm, for fire wood.

  19. I live in Tamahere and I've got lots of room to have animals and I think the country is better becuase you have loads more space to run around and play games and you have enough space to have as many animals as you want and i'm only five minutes from hamilton so i'm still close to all the shops. I think it's better to live in the country than in town. You can still do the same things as people do in town. Julia

I would prefer to live in the town because you can get wherever you want by walking instead of waiting for one of your parents to take you places and you don`t use you car as much and spend heaps of money on petrol.

  22. I think living in the town is better than the country because you don't have to catch the bus home you just have to walk down the road. And if you need anything from the shops you can get it quicker than anyone in the country side can.

  24. In my opinion i have know iddea witch is bet they both have there ups and downs in the country you have your privisy, there is no annoying traffic noise, you can crank up the sterio to your favourite song and not have any complaints or annoy anyone and in town it also has benifits you dont have to catch the bus every morning you could just walk or bike, and the shops are just around the corner so if your in a hurry it wont take you long to get to the supermarket or something

  29. I live in the country and I think it is better than living in town because it's quieter and has wide open spaces. You can even learn how to milk a cow. When you live in town the traffick would be annoying and there's no privacy.

  33. I live in town but I would like to live in the country. I want to live in the country because I would be able to do lots of loud stuff without annoying the neighbours and I would have lots of space to run around, it would even be good for a go cart.

  34. I think it is better to livein the country because it is much quieter and more peaceful than living in town where cars keep you awake at night. Kids can have as much room to play and do stuff as they want. You can have as many pets as you want and you can rear animals like calves and lambs. To cap it all off, you can make as much noise as they like without neighbours complaining.

  35. I live in town which I really enjoy it because we live right next door to a reserve and we can play, eel, explore and bike all day. We live just around the corner from school, close to friends and family, good neighbours and community, and close to the shops. I would also like to live out in the country because I like animals, wide open spaces, farm land and spending time outside.

  36. I prefer the country over the town because you usually have way more space to run around and play ,way more games like hide and seek and tag.

But, there are some good things about living in town, and they are, you can save money on gass and you can go to town and hang out with your mates when ever you like.

  38. I live in the country because I enjoy having privacy. You don't have your neighbour coming and complaining about your dog that goes on the lawn and digs big holes. In town young teenagers have parties on the side of the road. If you can't get to sleep and complain about the noise they will tell you to go away. That is why I like to live in the country.
