Class raps-The Hot Chip rap
I like hot chips and I cannot lie
You other girls can’t deny
When the smell comes round with a hot salty taste
And Watties sauce is on your face
You get stunned
Cuz you eat real rough
And you notice that gut was stuffed
Ever since our first meeting
I’m hooked and I can’t stop eating
Oh, baby I just wanna eat em
But I won’t stay slim
My sisters tried to warn me
That those chips you got
Make me so hungry
Ooh, bite of crunchy skin
You say you wanna get in my mouth
If I keep munchin’ on this luncheon I will never be very thin.

Tricky Rap
This speech is my recital, I think it's very vital
To get (a date), when she’s (your mate)
It's Tricky is the title, here we go...
It's Tricky to get a date, to get a date when she’s your mate
It's Tricky...it's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
It's Tricky to get a date, to get a date when she’s your mate
It's Tricky...Tr-tr-tr-tricky (Tricky) Trrrrrrrrrrricky
Verse 1
Alex Burne my best mate a girl you can really rate
Went to her house to ask her out but then she said no your gay
These girls are really crazy, they think I’m very lazy
Or spend some time and get a date, I said "It's not that easy"
It's Tricky to get a date, to get a date when she’s your mate
It's Tricky...(How is it D?) It's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Trrrrrricky)
It's Tricky to get a date, to get a date when she’s your mate
It's Tricky...Tricky (Tricky) Tricky
Verse 2
In MIS the people talk and try to make us cry
They are saying we are dorks but they can all go die
And in the loo we go boohoo cause we just can't hide
toilet doors don't mean nothin', they know who's inside
It's Tricky to get a date, to get a date when she’s your mate
It's Tricky...(How is it D?) Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
It's Tricky to get a date, to get a date when she’s your mate
It's Tricky...Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky) huh!

Christchurch Earthquake: the good, the bad and the ugly
New Zealand is coming to terms with the devastating impact of the earthquake in Christchurch. Despite the terrible destruction caused, amazingly no one has been killed.
In room 9 we have been looking at the photos of broken buildings and reading newspaper articles that really show the best and worst of human nature.
Sadly, a few people have taken advantage of this terrible situation to steal and loot from shops. This is the ugly side of human nature: dishonesty.
On the Good Morning Breakfast show, a person e-mailed in to the show complaining about how much news coverage the earthquake was getting. This is the bad side of human nature:selfishness.
More encouragingly, was the Herald article on university students organizing work parties to help clean up Christchurch and in particular those who are old and incapable of helping themselves. Over 1300 students have registered on a Facebook site and are out on the streets helping. This is the good side human nature: selflessness.

Karlie's Hug a ginga post
Do you think that this day is racist? What about if it was hug a blonde day or hug a short person day? Should we discriminate against people in this way or as the radio station suggests, is this all just a bit of fun? What do you think?

Nikiian & Larissa-Justin Bieber's hat gets stolen.
Hey, as most of us know Justin Bieber was in the country late Tuesday night and left on Wednesday. When he arrived, around about 500 screaming fans were waiting for him and amongst them were two mischievous teenage girls who got hold of his precious purple hat and stole it. In the end he got it back but it wasn’t that easy. The Edge radio station managed to find the two girls who stole his hat, Emah and Beki from Hamilton. When they stole his hat they were just so excited but when he wanted it back they thought about it and said that they’ll give it back if they get a hug. Justin Bieber said no, because they had stolen his property. So the girls thought again and this time they wanted him to say “Thank you” but he wouldn’t do that either. In the end they gave him back his hat, but with their personal details like their phone numbers, their twitter accounts on a piece of paper in it. These details got out to the world and Emah & Beki started getting hate mail from Justin Bieber fans. In the end Justin Bieber said he forgave them.
If you were these lucky ladies what would you do would? Would you keep it or give it back? If you were Justin Bieber what would have you done about it?

Homework -opinion 4
Watch this short news item at TVNZ .
What do you think about the idea?
What would be a beneficial thing about becoming part of Australia?
What would not be so good about it?
Write a well-thought out opinion statement.
(Cheers to Ryan for this opinion topic)
Homework-opinion 3
Town vs Country?
In our class we have a mix of students who live in town, and those who live out in the country. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
Write an opinion comment stating where you live and whether you prefer living where you are or that you would rather swap. What are your reasons for this opinion? Justify and give examples.
I live in the country on a small lifestyle block. I prefer it to living in town because it is peaceful and there is little traffic noise. I can have some animals roaming in the fields and I can go for walks on the neighbours farm. I can play loud music and not annoy anyone and I have no neighbours living just across a fence. Sometimes traveling to and from town is a pain, but not enough of one to make me want to move.
Homework-opinion post 2
Write a comment giving your opinion about what would be good about working in a single sex school and what would not be so good. Which would you prefer? At which type do you think you would learn best?
Homework opinion task 1
If the seven habits make you a more effective and 'better' person, what do you think would be the 7 habits of highly ineffective teens?
Post a comment listing your 7 ineffective habits and explain why they are not such good habits to have.
